Brooch: This is a very special brooch, as it is about 1/4 smaller than the standard optometrist lens, and a size of which I only possess a few.. It lends this piece an extra intimacy, which certainly affected the subject matter. A pool of resin hovers inside a large hole in the lens, and inside are suspended four raw sapphires. This brooch hearkens back to my early days, when I was more apt to have romantic imagery. The engraving is an exsquisite one, from 1842. |
