Life In The Mix SUPPLY LIST: Note: If you are flying to the workshop, you won't be able to fly with the epoxy resins. You may want to plan on having your order shipped to the venue to meet you there. • Epoxy doming resin <here>. This is roughly similar to a polyester resin here in Australia. If you have trouble getting it in time, don't worry - I'll demonstrate it in the workshop so you can see it in action. It has a slow setting time, so it will have to cure fully after classtime. • Epoxy 330 water-clear 2-part resin <here>. If you have Ice Resin, you may bring that as an alternative. • small mixing cups At home in my studio I recycle plastic yogurt cups... But ones with measurements on the side will make it easier (I'll bring some for sale in class). • paddle pop sticks, or craft sticks. You'll only need about 15 or so, so you don't need to bring a whole pack. • about 15 toothpicks • a pin or sewing needle • matte knife, exacto blade, etc. • box/book of matches • paper towels • rubber gloves (if you don't want dirty fingers) • Fuller Ultra-Seal sealant I will supply this for the class, and will have some to purchase if you need it after. • Blu-Tack Just a strip of it. • Organic materials! OK, the field here is WIDE open. Insects, leaves, berries, nuts, feathers, dried petals, pebbles, natural fabrics... THE ONLY RULE: Whatever you bring, it must be TOTALLY dried out - no freshly dead bugs or green leaves!! • Old paper - well, it doesn't need to be old, but book paper or handmade paper works beautifully. Bring an assortment of paper bits and pieces. • Found objects! Bring lots of bits and pieces - things with holes, insets, depressions, cavities, chambers - think of anything small that could potentially hold a viscous liquid. If it's not watertight, we'll seal it off in the class.
Please email me with any questions you might have that this page didn't address. See you there! Keith |
